Element One proudly presents Memphis Rap & Phonk - a deep dive into the dark, hypnotic sound of the underground Memphis Rap & Beat-making scene. This collection captures the trunk-rattling low-end, hard-hitting drum patterns, and eerie melodics that defined the original Memphis sound and fuelled the modern Phonk and Drift movement - where chopped samples, sinister melodies, and heavy 808s came together to create something raw, dark, and utterly addictive.
From deep 808 basslines and hard-hitting drum patterns to haunting melodic loops, classic cowbell loops, eerie chords, and atmospheric FX, this pack delivers the sounds and textures that connect the original Memphis rap tapes to the modern Phonk productions dominating playlists worldwide. Whether you’re crafting dark, hypnotic Phonk bangers, hard-hitting Memphis-inspired rap beats, or modern trap productions with a darker edge, this collection provides an authentic and versatile palette rooted deep in the heart of the Memphis sound.
Within Memphis Rap & Phonk, you’ll find:
Bass Loops & One Shots
Heavy, trunk-rattling low-end that forms the deep foundations of Memphis Rap and Phonk. Expect everything from broken and distorted 808s, to clean, hard, and punchy pluck basslines, alongside deep subs, wubs, and resonant, squelchy basses. One-shots are included for building your own custom basslines and layering additional low-end exactly where it’s needed.
Drum Loops & One Shots
Hard-hitting, hypnotic rhythms built around the iconic drum-machine patterns of Memphis Rap and Phonk. Expect punchy 808 and 909 kicks, crisp snares, tight claps, and rolling drum machine percussion that delivers the raw, aggressive energy central to the sound. Full loops and top loops are included for maximum flexibility, and one-shots give you complete control over layers and groove.
FX Loops
Dark, atmospheric FX designed to add tension, character, and movement to your arrangements. From atmospheric crackle textures and dub sirens to impact hits and classic percussion FX loops, these sounds glue sections together, enhance atmospheres, and reinforce the intense energy that defines the Memphis Rap & Phonk sound.
Melody & Chord Loops & One Shots
Haunting, hypnotic melodic and harmonic elements that capture the darker sound of Memphis Rap and Phonk. Expect everything from classic cowbell leads and simple melodic phrases to longer, synth-based variations, alongside abstract melodic textures and layered ambient loops. You'll also find retro synth chords, lo-fi leads, ambient plucks, and dreamy synth pads to add further depth to your productions. One-shots are included for crafting your own melodic hooks, stabs, and evolving melodic layers from scratch.
Percussion Loops & One Shots
Tight, hard-hitting percussion designed to add rhythmic complexity and drive to your beats. A diverse selection of kicks, claps, rimshots, and snare loops provides the foundations for building and varying your grooves, while hi-hat, shaker, and cymbal patterns offer additional top movement. One-shots are included for precise layering and custom rhythmic construction.
Memphis Rap & Phonk delivers a complete and authentic toolkit for producers seeking the deep and dark energy, eerie atmospheres, and hard-hitting intensity of one of the most influential sounds in modern rap and beat-making - rooted in the underground sound of Memphis Rap and the Phonk movement it inspired.
